17th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Yr C

"I tell you, if the man does not get up and give it to him for friendship's sake, persistence will be enough to make him get up and give his friends all he wants."

Jesus speaks about persistence. Persistence too, comes with Truth and Faith.
Well, easier said than done! would be common... Even Saints...Even mystics... They find it hard to persist in their prayer... They may find that sometimes, they are left alone, they feel alone...
when ever we persist in our prayers, Jesus also reminds us... Be careful, the evil one is prowling... If the itimacy with God is close, same may experience even the voice of Satan tempting you...
temptations come in different forms... Lost of concentration? Phone ringing? Reluctance? Fatigue? and the common.... Physically there, mind and heart not there... Even to the worst... The voice of the devil speaking to you... But above all that, Jesus tells us to persist! Have faith!
In the Our Father, Jesus gives us this prayer... To follow... "Your kingdom come" we must pray not "I want!" or for our benefit... But for the kingdom of God to come! We must pray that the kingdom of God be here... On earth as in heaven... We must pray for forgiveness and the grace to forgive...."forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive each one who is in debt to us."
we must persist in our prayer! We must pray for the truth! and we must pray with faith!
"Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you"
Do we? and until we have fulfilled... It is promised "how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
The Lord gives according to his will and his way..
    Amen...

Humility is not denying one's being but accepting one's abilities and acknowleging where it comes from. giving credit to the creator
